Sloth — Alarm clock for climbers

Last updated: 6 July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Sloth (“the App”, package name com.sloth.app) handles information when you use our mobile application. Sloth is an alarm app for climbers that uses your device camera to verify physical wake-up challenges (such as hangboard holds, push-ups, pull-ups, or sit-ups) before an alarm can be silenced.

2. Summary

3. Data we process

3.1 Data stored locally on your device

When you use Sloth, the following information is stored on your device using local app storage (Capacitor Preferences):

This data remains on your device unless you delete the app or reset your profile in the app.

3.2 Camera and on-device AI

Sloth requests camera access only to run wake-up challenges. Video frames are analysed on your device using an on-device pose estimation model (MediaPipe). The App checks whether you are performing the required exercise posture for a sustained period.

On first use, the pose model may be downloaded to your device. After that, detection can run offline.

3.3 Account data (optional)

You can use Sloth without creating an account. If you choose to sign in, we use Firebase Authentication provided by Google. Depending on the sign-in method you choose, this may include:

Firebase processes this data as our processor. See Google’s privacy documentation: firebase.google.com/support/privacy.

3.4 Subscriptions and purchases

We share data only with service providers needed to operate the App:

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or safety.
