Sloth — Alarm clock for climbers

Sloth is an alarm app for climbers. To turn off an alarm, you complete a short camera-verified exercise — hangboard holds, push-ups, pull-ups, or sit-ups — using on-device pose detection. Camera frames are processed on your phone and are not uploaded as video.

Common questions

Alarms & wake-up challenges

How do I stop the alarm? When an alarm rings, open Sloth and complete the exercise you chose for that alarm (for example, hang from your hangboard for the required seconds, or finish the required reps). The camera must see your full body clearly. The alarm stops only after the challenge is verified.
Hangboard alarms won’t verify — what should I check?
Push-ups, pull-ups, or sit-ups not counting? Make sure your whole body stays visible, move through the full range of motion, and keep a stable camera angle. Rep-based challenges need continuous movement until the target rep count is reached.
Will Sloth work if the app is closed? Sloth uses system alarms and notifications. On first launch, grant notification and alarm permissions when prompted. On Android, allow exact alarms if your device asks. Battery-saver or aggressive task killers can delay alarms on some devices.

Account, subscription & data

Do I need an account? No. You can use Sloth without signing in. Optional sign-in (Google, Apple, or email) syncs your profile through Firebase Authentication.

Privacy & permissions

Why does Sloth need the camera? The camera is used only during an active alarm challenge to verify your exercise. Processing happens on-device. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Which permissions are required? Notifications (and exact alarms on supported Android versions), camera during challenges, and optional sign-in. Sloth does not require location access.
Health & safety
Sloth is a wake-up tool, not medical or training advice. Use a secure hangboard setup, warm up appropriately, and stop if you feel pain. Do not use Sloth while driving or in situations where waking up suddenly could be dangerous.
